Oil on Panel
A young woman stands in the foreground, her gaze steady and unguarded, her youth plainly at odds with everything behind her. The stone arch bridge in the dell was part of the original Brewster estate and is now closed to the public, worn past the point of safe passage, its restoration uncertain. Dappled bokeh dissolves it into something closer to memory than masonry — a structure quietly surrendering to time. As a bridge engineer by profession, the artist brings a working knowledge of structural failure to this quiet study in contrast: a centuries-old span failing in place, set against a figure still early in her own timeline. Stone endures by standing still. She endures by moving forward.
